Swine Flu

Air Science Ltd deploying IQAir Systems are able to provide inexpensive Positive/Negative Pressure Isolation Rooms. In the majority of cases negative pressure is the requirement, it also costs less to install.

With the advent of autumn and winter expected increases in Swine Flu, many NHS Trusts have installed our simple but effective system. A system that provides a pressure differential well within the limits demanded by the NHS, this without the need for an air-lock double door requirement. This because a time lag of 7-10 seconds on opening and closing the door to the room before the door allows for an acceptable drop in pressure before compromising the NHS Standard. Recovery time to original pressure differential being approx 2-3 minutes.

This system can be used in 1 to 4 bedded rooms deploying a single CleanRoom H13 machine, plus a small CleanRoom 100 for re-circulation and cleaning of air within the room. Typically, these would be side rooms off main wards. Tests, by the NHS, on the filtration system, allow for the clean air from the machine to be exhausted into a main ward. Larger rooms would need more than one machine. When one considers the costs involved, this is a very inexpensive intervention in prevention and containment of infection. The single machine option costs approximately £4000-00 Ex VAT. Assembly is simple and takes minutes to achieve.

The diagram and technical specification attached, also gives other uses, in medical settings, that this system can be deployed in, other that isolation units.
